Core Commissions Attains SOC2 Type 2 Certification of Compliance

by | Jan 26, 2024

After several months of inquiry and auditing by an independent service auditor, Core Commissions has completed all necessary requirements to receive the SOC2 Type 2 Certification of Compliance. This achievement underscores Core’s unwavering commitment to maintaining the highest standards of information security, confidentiality, and integrity.

SOC2, which stands for Systems Organization Control 2, is a globally recognized security framework for managing and securing data. This framework acts as a set of guidelines that specify how organizations should protect customer data from unauthorized access, security incidents, ensure process integrity, and adhere to privacy commitments.

“Core has been SOC2 Type 1 compliant for a while, but we committed to pursuing SOC2 Type 2 in 2023” said Kirt Phillips, founder & CEO of Core Commissions. “We recognize how important security and privacy is for our customers. By undergoing this even more rigorous certification process, we aim to instill confidence in our customers that their data is secure and protected in Core’s platform.”

Audit reports conducted for SOC2 are divided into two types:

Type 1: The audit report evaluates a company’s controls at a single point in time to ensure the security controls are designed properly.

Type 2: The audit report assesses how those controls function over a period of time, generally 3-12 months, to ensure ongoing security compliance.

After successful completion of the SOC2 Type 1 audit report in 2022, Core decided to pursue the more arduous and extensive auditing process involved in attaining SOC2 Type 2 compliance. This rigorous certification process involved a thorough examination of Core’s information security policies, procedures, and controls.

Privacy and security continue to remain a primary concern for technology users and Core’s voluntary participation in undergoing an SOC2 audit further demonstrates their commitment to ensuring necessary safeguards are in place to maintain the confidentiality and integrity of their customer’s data.
